MoodMirror Privacy Policy

Your privacy is the foundation of MoodMirror. Mood data is deeply personal, and we treat it that way.
1. LOCAL-FIRST STORAGE
All of your mood entries, notes, activity logs, and Mira conversations are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side copy of your journal. If you uninstall the app or clear browser storage, your data is gone — there is no cloud backup unless you explicitly export your data.
2. NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED
MoodMirror does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personally identifying information to use the app.
3. AI FEATURES
When you chat with Mira or request an AI-generated insight, the content of your message (along with limited recent mood context) is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic processes this data per its own privacy policy and does not train models on inputs sent via their API. Mira responses are returned to your device and stored locally.
4. NO DATA SALES
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes. We do not embed third-party trackers in the app.
5. YOUR CONTROL
You can export all of your data to a JSON file at any time from Settings → Data. You can also clear all data permanently from the same screen. There is no recovery once cleared.
6. CHANGES
If this policy changes meaningfully, we will surface a notice in the app on next launch.

AI Data Processing
MoodMirror uses Claude AI, developed by Anthropic, to power the Mira AI companion feature. When you use the Mira chat feature, your messages and relevant mood data are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate AI responses. This data is processed in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy (https://www.anthropic.com/privacy). Your mood journal entries are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to any server.

By using MoodMirror, you agree to the following terms.
1. NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL CARE
MoodMirror, including the Mira AI companion, is a self-reflection and mood-tracking tool. It is not therapy, medical advice, or a substitute for professional mental health treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. In the US, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
2. AI LIMITATIONS
Mira is an AI assistant. Its responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. Do not rely on Mira for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
3. SUBSCRIPTIONS
Premium subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your platform's subscription management settings (App Store, Play Store, or web account). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; we do not pro-rate refunds for unused time.
4. FREE TRIAL
If you start a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel during the trial to avoid being charged.
5. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to misuse the app — including reverse-engineering, abusing the AI features, or attempting to access other users' data (we do not store other users' data, but the rule stands).
6. CHANGES
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
MoodMirror is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and limit liability for any indirect or consequential damages.

Subscriptions
Subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payments will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. No refunds are provided for the unused portion of a subscription period.
